Vietnamese vegetable oil refining plant's white clay decolorization and filtration project Customer background

2026-04-25

This client is located in Phu Yen Province, Vietnam. It is a vegetable oil refining plant with a daily processing capacity of 30 tons. The main products are soybean oil and palm oil. In the decolorization process, after the oil is mixed with activated carbon, it needs to undergo solid-liquid separation to remove the waste activated carbon and obtain clear decolorized oil.

Facing Challenges

The customer's original plate and frame filter press has been in use for many years, and the main problems include:

The feed pressure is unstable, and it often fails to complete a batch within the specified time.
The filter plate seal has aged, and hot oil (at 85-95℃) is leaking from the edge of the filter plate, resulting in greasy floors in the workshop.
The manual plate pulling mechanism is stuck, causing the filter cloth to easily tear during discharging.
There is no dedicated oil product collection pump. The filtrate flows into the temporary storage tank by itself, resulting in low efficiency.

The customer requires a filter press that is resistant to high temperatures, has reliable sealing, is easy to maintain, and can enhance the efficiency of batch processing. Additionally, they hope that the equipment's voltage is compatible with the local power grid in Vietnam (three-phase 220V/50Hz, but the factory actually has an outdated 60Hz line with fluctuations).

Solution

We provided our customers with an XAY20/630-U type box-type filter press, and made targeted configurations according to the de-colorization process of vegetable oil:

Model630×630mm box-type filter press, hydraulic pressing, manual pull plate, double counter-current flow
Filter Plates24 middle box-type plates + 2 front and rear plates (25 chambers)
Filter Cloth3927 polyester twill fabric (100℃ resistance)
Feed PumpKCB33.3 gear oil pump (1.5kW)
Discharge PumpFinished oil pump, actively extracting filtrate
PipingComplete set of carbon steel pipes and flange fittings
ElectricalThree-phase motor, wide voltage (200V-240V / 50-60Hz)
ColorStainless steel color (as specified)

Implementation Effect

Sealing performance significantly improved: No visible leakage at 95℃ even after 8 hours of operation.
Filtering cycle shortened: Batch processing time reduced from 70 minutes to 40 minutes.
Clear filtrate: Passed decolorization and turbidity tests without second filtration.
Effortless discharge: Smooth manual pulling, automatic cake fall-off, no cloth tearing.
Dual-pump efficiency: Direct transport to 15m high tank, eliminating intermediate buffers.

Customer Evaluation

Production supervisor's feedback: "What we are most satisfied with about this box-type filter press is its sealing performance and dual-pump design. Previously, we always worried about the safety issue of hot oil leakage. Now, we don't have to worry about it at all. The finished oil pump is directly connected to the high-level tank, eliminating the need for a separate pump and one person's work."

Subsequent Cooperation

The customer has recommended the same model of equipment to their partner in Cambodia. At the same time, the customer purchased a set of spare filter cloth and filter plate sealing strips from us for daily maintenance and turnover purposes.
