The automatic plate-drawing filter press helps Malaysian food processing plants solve the problem of handling high-humidity waste residue.

A large coconut milk and plant protein processing plant in Malaysia generates approximately 15 tons of mixed waste materials (including coconut flour and bean residue) every day. These materials have a moisture content of up to 82%, and they start to ferment and stink after being piled up for just two days. This has seriously affected the environment of the factory area and has led to warnings from the local environmental protection department.

The client's original handling method was to directly entrust a third party for waste disposal. However, the high moisture content led to extremely high costs for the disposal process, which was calculated based on weight. Moreover, during transportation, the wastewater dripped and leaked, resulting in complaints. The client had tried using two small centrifugal dewatering machines, but due to the high fiber content of the materials, the screens were prone to clogging, and the discharged residue still contained 65% moisture, failing to meet the requirements for pre-treatment before composting.

Our engineers, based on the characteristics of the material's oil content and fiber content, recommended the automatic plate-type box filter press model 870, with a filtration area of 120 square meters. The equipment is equipped with enhanced polypropylene filter plates and food-grade sealing components. The entire machine adopts a one-button start mode with PLC, and operators can master the operation without special training.

Three months after the equipment was put into operation, on-site measurement data showed that the moisture content of the coconut flour and bean pulp mixture decreased from 82% to 48%, meeting the entry standards for composting raw materials. The total weight of waste residue decreased from 15 tons per day to approximately 5.5 tons, and the third-party removal cost dropped by about 63%.

This customer has ordered a second unit of the same model from our company to handle the coconut shell residue from another production line.
