Solvent Recovery Filtration Line of an UAE Chemical Enterprise

2026-04-24
Customer Background
This is a chemical enterprise in the United Arab Emirates. During the production process, organic solvents are used for reactions, and after the solvents are recovered, they contain approximately 200-300 ppm of solid catalyst particles. The original filter used was a cartridge-type filter, which clogged quickly (requiring replacement every 2 days) and had high filter costs, as well as complicated waste disposal. The solvents are highly corrosive, and the equipment must be resistant to chemical corrosion.
Solution
The customer customized 6 316L stainless steel single-bag type filters, equipped with 1-micron PP filter bags (304 steel rings). The design pressure of the filters is 1.6 Mpa, with inlet and outlet DN80 flanges. The sealing ring is made of fluororubber to withstand organic solvents. The inner and outer surfaces of the equipment are polished to reduce solvent residues. At the same time, 316 ball valves and connectors are provided to ensure corrosion resistance of the entire system.
Usage effect
After filtration, the content of solid particles in the solvent is reduced to below 10 ppm, and the solvent can be reused.
The filter bag replacement cycle is 5 to 7 days. The cost of the filter bag is only 1/4 of that of the original filter element. The annual savings in consumables amount to approximately $12,000.
The equipment has operated for 10 months without any leakage or corrosion, meeting the requirement for 24-hour continuous production.
The workers reported that replacing the filter bags only takes 5 minutes, while previously it took 20 minutes to replace the filter elements.
Customer feedback
This stainless steel single-bag filter offers better filtration performance at a lower cost. The 316L material has withstood our solvents very well. We are extremely satisfied with the performance.
