Juyi Stainless Steel Bag Filter Helps Middle East Oil Service Companies Upgrade Their Oil Filtration Systems

2026-07-04
Project Background
A certain oil service company in the Middle East mainly provides lubricating oil, hydraulic oil and diesel to local oilfield drilling platforms. This company has undertaken multiple large-scale oil maintenance outsourcing projects for oilfields and needs to equip mobile oil supply vehicles at the drilling sites with stable filtration systems to ensure that the cleanliness of various oil products delivered to the equipment meets international standards.
As the business volume increased, the original filtration equipment of this enterprise gradually revealed problems such as insufficient processing capacity and excessively high maintenance costs. Therefore, it was urgent to carry out a comprehensive upgrade and transformation of the filtration system on the oil supply vehicles.
Facing challenges
The oil conditions are complex

The on-site environment of the oilfield has significant temperature variations, severe sandstorms, and the oil often contains pipeline rust debris, sealant fragments, and dust particles brought in during transportation. The original filtering equipment has poor adaptability to different types of oil and the flow rate significantly decreases when processing high-viscosity lubricating oil.

The sealing components have insufficient oil resistance

After prolonged contact with mineral oil-based lubricants and diesel, the rubber sealing components of the original filter have experienced swelling, hardening, and even cracking, resulting in frequent leakage problems. This not only causes waste of oil but also poses potential safety hazards on-site.

It is inconvenient to replace the filter bags

The space of the oil supply vehicle is limited and the operation passage is narrow. The original filter used a threaded cover. Each time a new filter bag needs to be replaced, a special wrench is required. When working at heights, it is both laborious and time-consuming, seriously affecting the transfer efficiency of the oil supply vehicle.

The surface is severely corroded

In the desert environment, wind and sand erosion as well as condensation water adhering due to the temperature difference between day and night have caused rust spots and peeling paint on the filter housing, which affects the overall lifespan of the equipment and the management image on site.

Solution
After conducting on-site inspections of the customer's operation site, the equipment supplier recommended the stainless steel bag filter model JYSF-2#-304, and carried out corresponding optimization based on the specific working conditions of the oilfield site.

304 Stainless Steel Shell

The shell is made of 304 stainless steel with a sandblasting surface treatment. The sandblasting process not only removes the machining burrs but also creates a uniform matte surface. Compared to ordinary polishing or painting layers, the sandblasted surface is less prone to scratches and rust initiation points in the desert sand environment, and its weather resistance is significantly enhanced.

Nitrile Rubber Sealing

The sealing solution is made of nitrile rubber. Nitrile rubber has excellent tolerance to mineral oil-based lubricants, diesel, and hydraulic oil. After coming into contact with the oil products, it maintains stable elasticity and sealing performance, thus solving the leakage problem from the material source.

Quick-Opening Design

The equipment adopts a side-in and bottom-out flow direction and a quick-opening cover with lifting ring structure. This design enables the operator to easily complete the filter bag replacement on the narrow operation platform of the oil supply vehicle without the need for tool assistance. The single bag replacement time is controlled within ten minutes. The 1/2-inch exhaust valve at the top ensures the smoothness of exhaust during the first startup and filter bag replacement of the system, avoiding the impact of cavitation on the downstream precision components.

Standard 2# PP Filter Bags

The filter bags are configured as 2# standard size (180×810mm), made of PP material with a precision of 50 microns. This precision level can effectively intercept common iron oxide debris, sealing fragments and sand particles in the oil products at the oilfield site, while maintaining sufficient flow area to ensure that the oil supply vehicle can continuously and stably supply oil at the rated flow rate.

Implementation effect
After this stainless steel bag filter was put into use at the site, the customer achieved significant improvements in multiple operational indicators:
Stable Filtration & Standard Compliance

The batch sampling results of the 50-micron PP filter bags show that the cleanliness of the lubricating oil and diesel after filtration continuously meets the ISO cleanliness grade requirements specified by the equipment manufacturers. The rate of on-site equipment failure repair due to oil contamination has decreased year-on-year.

Zero Leakage Sealing System

The nitrile rubber sealing ring remains stable after continuous contact with various oils. After several weeks of equipment operation, there is no sign of leakage. Simultaneously, the on-site oil consumption and the workload for ground cleaning have decreased.

Time-Saving Maintenance

The quick-opening ring structure is highly recognized by frontline operators. It can be operated without using a wrench in high-altitude and narrow spaces. The bag-changing process has been shortened from nearly half an hour to within ten minutes, significantly reducing the labor intensity and also shortening the preparation time for the oil supply vehicle before moving.

Excellent Equipment Appearance

The 304 stainless steel casing that has undergone sandblasting has withstood months of exposure to wind and sand. The surface shows no rust spots or obvious wear and tear. It only requires regular blowing with compressed air to remove accumulated dust to maintain a clean state. The customer is satisfied with the equipment's long-lasting and new-like appearance.

Customer feedback

The enterprise's operations manager mentioned in the project summary that the introduction of this batch of stainless steel bag-type filters has enabled their oil supply vehicle filtration system to reach a new level of reliability. The requirements of no leakage during sealing, no interruption during bag replacement, and no rusting of the shell are all seemingly simple, but they are often difficult to achieve simultaneously in the actual oilfield environment. However, this product has managed to do so. What makes them even more satisfied is that the equipment has a simple structure and does not require specialized training to operate. Frontline employees have shifted from passive maintenance to proactive maintenance, and the on-site management efficiency has consequently improved.
