Customer Case: Scraper-type Self-Cleaning Filter in a Liquid Processing Plant in Southeast Asia
A liquid processing plant in Southeast Asia once faced a recurring filtration problem. The plant used a large amount of industrial water on its production line, and the original filtration equipment required frequent manual cleaning. Every time the filter element got clogged, the production line had to stop for processing, which not only affected production but also increased labor costs. The factory needed a filtration solution that could operate continuously, reduce manual intervention, and maintain stable filtration accuracy.
The factory contacted us and explained the operating conditions. The medium was industrial water containing certain suspended particles, with a required filtration accuracy of 10 microns. The pipe interface was DN65, and the working pressure was no more than 0.6 MPa. The factory also requested that the equipment have automatic cleaning and automatic discharge functions, and hoped to be able to remotely monitor the equipment status.
Based on these requirements, we recommended the scraper-type self-cleaning filter model JYSCF-250-304. This equipment uses an SS304 stainless steel cylinder and an SS304 filter element. The cylinder diameter is 273mm, and the surface is sandblasted. The inlet and outlet flanges are DN65, GB standard, and the side inlet and outlet. The discharge port is DN25 internal thread, and the bottom discharge. The filtration accuracy is 10 microns. The design pressure is 1.0 MPa, and the working pressure does not exceed 0.6 MPa.

The equipment is equipped with an electric ball valve, which is controlled by PLC. The motor power is 0.55kW, and the running time is also controlled by PLC. The pressure sensor is connected to PLC, and the pressure value can be set by the user. The entire machine is controlled by PLC, equipped with a large LCD display panel, has a fault warning function, and can be remotely controlled.
After the equipment was put into use, the filtration process became more stable. The scraper-type self-cleaning structure can clean the filter element surface during operation, significantly reducing the frequency of manual disassembly. The pressure sensor monitors the pressure in real time. When the pressure reaches the set value, PLC controls the electric ball valve to open for discharge, and the cleaning and discharge actions are completed automatically. The factory no longer needed to frequently stop the machine to clean the filter, and the maintenance labor cost also decreased.
The factory manager stated that the 10-micron filtration accuracy met their production requirements, and the automatic cleaning and automatic discharge functions were very practical. The remote control function also allowed the operators to view the equipment status without having to be on-site. The SS304 material and sandblasted surface have good corrosion resistance, and the equipment operates reliably in daily use.
This case indicates that for industrial water filtration scenarios with continuous operation requirements, using PLC control and pressure sensor-equipped scraper-type self-cleaning filters can effectively reduce manual maintenance and improve filtration stability. The SS304 material and DN65 flange configuration also make installation and pipe connection more convenient.
