Customer Case: JYSF-2# - 304 Stainless Steel Bag Filter Helps Southeast Asian Chemical Factory Improve Filtration Quality

2026-08-03
Customer Background
This client is a medium-sized fine chemical enterprise in Southeast Asia, mainly producing industrial-grade surfactants and additives. The original filtration system of their production line used an old type of spiral-wound filter element filter. There were persistent problems such as frequent filter element replacements, rapid increase in pressure difference, and high cost of filter material consumption. Each production line needed to replace the filter element approximately 4-5 times per month, and each replacement required a downtime of about 2 hours, which seriously affected the continuous production rhythm.
The challenges encountered
The production supervisor of the client reported that the original filtration system mainly had three major drawbacks:
First, the filtration accuracy is unstable. During the later stages of use, the wound filter element is prone to medium displacement, allowing some impurities to pass through, which affects the transparency of the final product. As a result, we received quality complaints from two downstream customers for this reason.
Second, the maintenance cost is too high. The filter element is a one-time consumable item, with a relatively high cost per unit, and the monthly usage is large. The annual expenditure on consumables accounts for more than 30% of the production line's maintenance budget.
Thirdly, the cleaning process is cumbersome. The filter element has a complex structure and cannot be effectively cleaned and reused. After each replacement, the filter housing needs to be thoroughly cleaned, which increases the workload for the operators.
Solution
After technical communication, we recommended the JYSF-2#-304 type stainless steel bag filter to the customer as an alternative to their original filter. Considering the customer's material temperature of approximately 50℃ and the presence of a small amount of oil components, we selected a nitrile rubber sealing ring and used a 1-micron PP filter bag combined with a 304 stainless steel ring to ensure that the filtration accuracy is met and the sealing is reliable.

Implementation effect
After the equipment was put into use, the customer conducted a data comparison after continuous operation for 30 days. The results are as follows:
In terms of filtration accuracy, the 1-micron PP filter bag effectively retained suspended particles and gel-like impurities larger than 1μm in the material. The product's light transmittance increased from the original 92% to over 98%. Subsequently, there were no more customer complaints about the clarity of the product.
In terms of consumable costs, the purchase price of a single filter bag is approximately 40% lower than that of the original filter element. Moreover, its actual service life reaches 25-28 days, which is more than three times longer than the 7-day replacement cycle of the original filter element. Calculated based on monthly consumable costs, the cost of the filtration process in this production line has decreased by approximately 55%.
In terms of maintenance efficiency, the bag replacement operation is simple and convenient. Ordinary operators can complete the entire process of opening the cover, taking out the bag, loading the bag, and closing the cover within 15 minutes. This significantly reduces the previous 2-hour downtime, effectively increasing the available working hours of the production line.
Customer feedback
The production manager of this client stated in a subsequent email that the JYSF-2#-304 stainless steel bag filter not only resolved the quality issues but also significantly reduced the repetitive labor intensity of the on-site workers. Currently, this client has planned to replicate the same model of equipment to its two other under-construction production lines.
