Customer Case: Capacity Expansion and Upgrade of a Thai Herbal Beverage Factory's Production Line

2026-03-27

Customer Background

A Thai herbal beverage manufacturer specializing in ready-to-drink products such as lemongrass tea and chrysanthemum tea, mainly sold in local supermarkets and exported to the ASEAN market. With the sharp increase in summer orders, the existing filtration system's processing capacity was insufficient, becoming a bottleneck in the production line.

Facing challenges

Production capacity is limited: The processing flow rate of the existing equipment is only 2,500 L/H, which is hard to meet the production demand of over 4,000 L/H during peak season.
Residual impurities: Fine particles in herbal raw materials often penetrate old filtration equipment, affecting the appearance and taste of the product.
Seal aging: The sealing rings of old equipment are not resistant to high temperatures. After long-term operation, leakage occurs, posing a safety hazard.
Lack of spare parts system: No backups for key components, and waiting for parts after a failure affects the delivery cycle.

Solution

Based on the customer's production line layout and material characteristics, we have configured a complete stainless steel single-bag filtration unit. The core equipment is a JYSF-4#-304 single-bag filter made of 304 stainless steel, with a working pressure of 0.6 MPa. The inlet and outlet adopt an upper side inlet and bottom outlet structure, which is convenient for material flow and drainage. It is also equipped with a 304 stainless steel sanitary centrifugal pump with a flow rate of 5000 L/H, suitable for the 380V three-phase power supply on the customer's site.

In terms of filtration accuracy, we provide our customers with two types of PP filter bags with 50μm and 100μm precision, which can be flexibly switched according to the clarity requirements of different herbal beverages, achieving a combined application of coarse and fine filtration. The connection part is equipped with two 2-meter-long 304 stainless steel flexible hoses, with clamp connectors at both ends, facilitating customers to adjust the equipment position according to the on-site layout.

To ensure long-term stable operation, we also provide customers with a complete spare parts package, including additional sealing rings, pressure gauges, exhaust valves and clamps, to ensure that key components can be replaced in a timely manner when abnormalities occur, minimizing downtime to the greatest extent.

Implementation Process

After the project was initiated, we first confirmed the layout plan of the filters, pumps and pipelines with the customer's technical personnel via remote means to ensure that the equipment could be quickly positioned upon arrival. The equipment was packed and shipped in a modular manner, with detailed installation diagrams included. The customer could complete the connection and assembly by referring to the drawings. During the initial operation and debugging stage, we remotely guided the customer to complete the parameter settings and trial operation via video. The entire process only took about 2 hours.

Implementation Effect

Three months after the equipment was put into use, the customer reported significant results. The processing capacity of the filtration stage increased from the original 2,500L/H to 5,000L/H, fully meeting the full-load production demand during peak seasons. The herbal granules were filtered thoroughly, and the clarity of the products improved significantly, with a notable decrease in customer complaint rates. The quick-release hooped cover design enabled the filter bag replacement to be completed independently by a single person, reducing the operation time by 60%. Additionally, due to the well-established spare parts system, the equipment downtime caused by faults was reduced to zero, ensuring strong continuity in production.
Testimonial
"This filtration system is easy to install and operates stably, helping us smoothly get through the peak production season. Especially, the configuration of the spare parts package is very considerate, eliminating our concerns about unexpected malfunctions." - Factory Director, a certain herbal beverage company in Thailand
